Blackbird Theatre is a Children’s and Young People’s Theatre Company. We offer,
workshops which cover acting skills; improvisation, mime, voice work, movement,
and an end production. The workshops also cover communication and concentration
and social skills. Our ethos is having fun while learning about the theeatre.
We have our own Tv/Radio/Film Agency. On occasion producers request
actors for Tv, Radio, and Film work. If we think a child is suitable for the
part, , we will put their name forward with parent’s permission to go for an
audition. The parent will act as Chaperone.
We are now offering an 18
plus class on a Tuesday evening, 7pm – 8pm
The workshops are held;
Saturday morning, 11am – 1pm, and, 1.15pm – 3.15pm. Tuesday and Thursday
afternoons, 4pm – 5.30pm.
Prices vary for a single child and there are
reductions for more than one child in a family The workshop fees are due in
every seven weeks.
We are based at St. Gerard’s Community Hall, Antrim
Road.
We have performed in the Lyric Theatre, The Group Theatre, The Old
Museum and Arts Theatre, The Culturlann Theatre, The BT Studios at the
Waterfront Hall, The Courtyard Theatre. The Feile An Phobail, St. Mary’s
Training College, The Conway Mill, The Golden Thread Theatre, and St. Gerard’s
Community Hall. We have also gone on tour in and around Belfast and in the
South of Ireland.
